The hypersexualization of Black women, rooted in colonial narratives, perpetuated through media stereotypes like the Jezebel trope, and challenged by Black feminist critique. Young black girls contend with sexuality early into girlhood, often being shamed, and then being fetishized going into womanhood and contending with being hyper sexualized but at the same time seen as less beautiful than women of other races and ethnicites.
